This Week in Europe
Issue 16 July 27, 2007
The goal of this section is to give you all the informations about diplomacy in Europe.

WorldDipCon 17 : August 9-12, Vancouver

Live from the airport of Paris.
I'm waiting for my flight for United States. The WorldDipCon is now in 2 weeks and the pressure will grow. I think that everybody is very impatient and we hope to see a lot of European players. There's a lot of information at www.vancouverdiplomacy.ca and you can contact Nathan Barnes too.
If you come for the WDC, I suggest you to try to play one or two other tournaments.
The DragonFlight (Buz Eddy) will take place the weekend before the WDC in Seattle (August 4-5).
The HuskyCon (Website) will take place the weekend after the WDC in New York (August 18-19). A good step before to come back in Europe!
I hope to see you in one or two of this two events!

Manorcon XXV : the results

The manorcon took place the last weekend. 20 players were here to try to enter into the history of this famous tournament. The winner is ... this year ... Eric Miszti, followed by John Stratford and Toby Harris. There're only English players. Where are the other European players?? Each year, there're some special awards.
Most American Player (Who's not actually American)
Tom Garrety, For attacking the wrong country at the wrong time while failing to defend his homeland. (Tom (Italy) tried to stab Rick (Austria) for Greece, but failed to take it, and simultaneously ordered Ven-Tyr, so that Rick walked into Venice, and had an unstoppable walk into Rome!)
TD's Award
Jointly awarded to:
Andrew Mayfield (For playing the last six years of the game with 1 unit, only to be eliminated on the last turn)
and
Hayley Anderson (For making it into the draw having playing the last six years of the game on 1 centre)

Tu Felix Austria : Next step of the Grand Prix and Vier-Chancen

As each year, the organizing team of the FAT prepares one of the most enjoyable tournaments. Come in Hohe Wand on August 2-5, to play to diplomacy and some others games, to eat and drink and ... to spend a very good time.
So try this year and you will be happy to come again the next year for the WorldDipCon in Austria!

Lega dell'Estate 2007 : Summer league in Milan

Last Tuesday we began a 4 evening League called "Lega dell'Estate 2007", planning to play each July Tuesday. We are going to evaluate games with "Milano-Cleopadre" (otherwise he would complain :) ).
Giovanni Cesarini

The last tuesday, Ricardo Savini (R) finished first followed by Davide Cleopadre (I). For more informations, you can read the comments written on the Italian Website. Ricardo Savini takes the first position of the league followed, but it's very open.
The last game will take place on Tuesday, July 31. It smells like a top board.
